Recipes are back! After a LONG accidental hiatus during the holidays, I am back to posting the recipe of the week. This one is a new favorite of David's- Chile Poblano Soup. It has just the right amount of zestiness without being too hot. Now, I confess I am more of a Rajas girl, but this soup is definately more figure friendly. With the addition of more crema and cheese this could easily have a rajas flavor. And a note: although crema is delicious, it is nearly impossible to find here in the Boston suburbs. I substitute my version of creme fraiche- heavy whipping cream lightly whipped with the addition of the juice of one lemon. You could also use sour cream. To roast the poblanos, simply put onto a bare burner and blister the skin. Rub vigorously with a towel to remove skin.
I have also been working on, amongst other things, a felted zipper pouch. Here is how things are going:
So, the felting is comlete, and I am pleased with the results. Now I have to add a lining and zipper. I love how stiff the bag is. It can stand up on its own.
