For those of you who haven't heard of the obsessiveness happening over the new Martha Stewart craft collection, you are really missing out. Seriously, I am having to contain my need to buy everything in the line. Happily, I did pick up a few things over at Michael's the other day. I am most excited about the big vintage alphabet flash cards. They will be put around the girls' room in the new house. This has been idea I have wanted to do for a long time now. Seriously though, I am dying to get absolutely everything. Any of you who knew me as a child are probably not surprised to hear that I am wanting to hoard the stickers and doo dads. I have an illness that makes it hard for me to even use the beautiful crafty things I buy. I think they are so terrific that I don't want to waste them by using them. THAT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE!
My other illness is fabric collecting. I end up thinking a fabric is so great that I don't want to cut it up. Other sewers out there know this is common, but funny none the less. Case in Point, my ever-growing stack of quilting cottons:
And finally, we got these stacking cups for Zozo at IKEA, but Olivia is the one spending hours playing with them...sorry about the lame photo, but I couldn't resist posting this one in particular because of Zoe's feet back there! I love how she sit there with her ankles crossed.
Really, it is a miracle I posted this much. I am at a stalemate right now. My mind is all aswarm with ideas for the new house, so it is almost impossible to think of anything else on the creative front. We need to start packing up, but I haven't built up the motivation yet. The laundry needs to get done, but the idea of going down to the dungeon is less than appealing, and the weather is beautiful, but all of these other tasks nagging at me keep me from enjoying being outside with the girls.
So, as yesterday, we will probably go to the backyard for an hour or so later today to rid ourselves of a little energy. I will force myself to do at least some of the laundry so I don't feel completely lazy, and then I will sit and watch Dream Girls while my girls take a nap. No, no packing yet. I just can't manage it. Sunday is the magic day. That is the day this little home ceases to exist. From that day forward it will be a storage unit for all the boxes and bags that once were the contents of this house. I refuse to allow the procrastination to prevail this move. I have learned from my past mistakes that the kitchen needs to be first on the chopping block.
Hopefully, I will have the energy to continue posting our progress, but if you notice me lagging on the blogging front be patient. In a month you will be getting posts from our new new home!
