Make the girls' breakfast. Sit them down to eat. Start my own tasty egg scramble with prosciutto and smoked Gouda accompanied by a crumpet topped with lemon custard. Sit down to eat. Get interrupted by Zoe ready for a nap- she wakes up at 6am. Sit back down and take a bite. Cold. Reheat in micro. Not quite the same. Oh well.
David finally got home yesterday after three weeks away. He had to finish work in Boston. I am beyond ecstatic. You can imagine after four years of college apart we do not relish having to relive that. Not to mention being alone with two children for a month is enough to drive any woman insane. He says it was the best road trip he has ever taken. This is awesome if you consider he drove 90 miles the wrong way the first night of driving. Then almost had his car towed at his brother's military base in NY for not being registered (which he wasn't aware of). It wasn't over there; his battery light came on midday on Saturday whereby he spent two hours replacing the battery and alternator. At that point he also locked his keys in his car, and was assisted by a helpful citizen. Obviously he wasn't able to get here on Saturday night, so he spent the night with his cousin, Carlos, in St. Louis. Finally he arrived yesterday tired and a little smelly, but home safe. We are relieved.
