Ok, I know this is a bad picture...but I had to take it through the screen in the kitchen. See, the other day Olivia and I were looking out that very window when we saw this on our clothesline. He (or she) was stalking a squirrel in our back yard. At first I thought it was a fluke until he got a visitor:
See his friend down in the grass? These birds are huge! Seriously, like over a foot tall! At first I thought they were just hawks, but after a little looking online I think they could be a type of falcon indigenous to KC. For the past four days at least one of them has stopped by the yard for a visit, which leads me to believe a couple have built a nest in either our tree or a neighbors. Isn't that crazy cool!
