Outtakes of family photos tend to be the most realistic and funny. Don't you love Zoe's look of boredom about the whole thing? And this was taken before we even started; I was checking the light levels. If you look closely, you will also see a little bit of crazy in David's eyes too. I wish I could show more, but I don't want to spoil the Christmas card.
We are big photo card people. Do you remember the card from last year? Those are the cards I most enjoy getting, so it is a big process each year coming up with an idea. This year I have taken it to a new level by designing the entire card myself and having them professionally printed. We will see how they turn out.
Another issue lately is realizing how large our Christmas card list has become. I think we are up into the 80s. Eighty cards is a lot of stamps to buy. We are wrastling (I use the Texas version of the word here) with the idea of editing down our list. How many of you have this problem? For a lot of the recipients, this is really our only annual communication with them. Lots of them are extended family we love, but only see at big events like weddings. Do you quit sending cards to them because you rarely see them, or is this the very type of person Christmas cards were to be intended? Probably the list will win and we will buy another set of cards to mail.
