Don't you just love driftwood? This log was pretty big. I wish I could have brought it home on the plane, but I don't think a tree log counts as carry on luggage.
Guess what? I brought all of my kitchen stuff back into my drawers and cabinets last night! Yes I did! Today I am hoping to get the upper shelving installed so i can bring all my dishes back inside. Honestly, it was kind of strange when I looked around the kitchen and realized that it was ready to start moving back in. There are still quite a few things that need to be finished before the kitchen is technically finished, but the overall structure of the room is now complete. I cannot believe it.
Oh, and this is our favorite restaurant in Port Aransis, named Shells. This is one of those places where you find yourself thinking about it in the middle of November when it's cold out and all you want is some summer. It consists of only ten tables in a tiny dining area. Two chefs make up the whole kitchen staff, and they peer at you from the gally. When we lived in Corpus Christi for six weeks during one of David's med school rotations we would drive the twenty minutes over to Port Aransis just to get some of their jamaica (hibiscus tea). Fine dining in flip flops and terry cloth: nothing better.
