I had said I was going to start participating in five senses friday with Abby and others a while  back and just haven't followed through.  Well, no more.  Have a happy Friday everyone!  We are expecting up to 10 inches of snow tomorrow!!! Crazy weather.

*see*  Little heads and backpacks rushing to get to their rooms.  Springy outfits peeking from under coats.  Ice slicking over our deck steps and windshield.  Trees waving in anticipation for what is coming.

*hear* The tick tick tick of raindrops dripping off my roof, soothing my hectic morning.  The hiss of the kettle as water begins to simmer.  That oh-so-familiar sound of jaunty music coming from the cartoons in the living room; a sound I thought I would never get used to and now can't imagine my mornings without it.

*smell*  Geranium scented cleaner settling over my house in anticipation of a house guest.  Heads of children who are due for a bath, that smell that lets me know in the most basic way that this child is mine, even if my eyes were closed. 

*taste* The ever-satisfying, slightly bitter sip of the first cup of coffee of the day; the sip no others can match, with it's velvety weight coating my mouth in promise of a great morning.

*touch* Wet doggie fur as I dry him off from the morning romp in the yard.  The still-warm sheets from a good-night's sleep as I make the beds for the day.  The shocking cold I feel every morning as I sit in the drivers seat of the car.  A soft firmness as I hold a tiny hand in mine to help her cross the street.
