Status Report: I still feel horrible. These allergies totally snuck up on me and boy am I paying the price. Although a bit better than yesterday, I still feel a bit like death warmed over. The cruel trick of it all is that I feel better in two conditions, neither are really the best for me in my current state.
1. As soon as I step into the fresh air my nose and sinuses clear up. It makes me want to throw open all the windows of the house. Unfortunately, this is an evil trick, because the fresh air is the very thing causing these allergies. Oh you are a seductive one, nature!
2. I did go exercise yesterday, despite my appearance of sudden collapse at any minute. The only time I felt good yesterday really was the 45 minute treadmill time. I could breathe. My sinuses didn't hurt. But, when you are already in a weakened state, I don't think you should really keep that heart rate up for more than that or i really would have collapsed.
So, in the spirit of my discombobulated brain, I thought I would mention random things about my week.
Where has the Neti Pot been all my life? That thing is pure genious! If you don't know what they are go google it, as I am too tired to make links. And no, I will not be doing any of those youtube demonstrations any time soon!
I work out at our community center. We are lucky to have a terrific one right by our house with state of the art equipment. The best part is that most of the people there during the middle of the day are in their seventies. While on the treadmill yesterday, I watched this seventy-five year old player walk up to all the nice white-haired ladies while they exercised. He even got on an elliptical trainer in his blue jeans and golf shirt right next to one of the lovely ladies. It was like the club scene for seniors.
Yogurt with toasted hazelnuts and honey makes a good lunch.
I cut my own hair this week and it looks better than just about every professional cut I've had in years. I have been wanting a long layered cut where the front is shorter than the back, and no one would give me the right cut. Thank goodness for YouTube and japanese hair salons.
If you aren't sure you really do much around your house as a stay-at-home mom, just be sick for a few days and see your home fall apart. Mine looks like a tornado struck every single room. I never noticed how much clutter my family produces because I am always picking it up.
