There is absolutely no denying we are smack in the middle of autumn. Each year, around this time, my home becomes a landing place for all kinds of leaves, acorns, twigs, pinecones, and other such treasures found by the girls on walks. They are everywhere, from the kitchen table to vases, sitting on trays, in piles on the coffee table. It's a bit of a double edged sword, because although they are all so beautiful to look at, they also contribute to the house feeling completely cluttered. But I hold it in, because the girls love collecting so much. And really, who am I kidding? We all know they got that from me.
Somehow this month became completely packed with obligation, and I don't know exactly when it happened. Vacations, birthday parties, school party planning, work-related costume parties- whew. Remember those lazy days of summer? I kind of miss them right now. There I go again trying to be that hermit.
Today, I am going to try and get some of the house in order so my brain has some space to think. Time to get back in a schedule. Time to stop the lazing.
I also wanted to mention that my friend Heather has some amazing new work in her shop today. You definitely don't want to miss it!
