Family photos for us is often a challenge, which I bet would be surprising considering I get paid to take other people's portraits. But our pictures usually involve moving furniture in the house near the best window, propping up the camera, setting the self-timer, running back and forth, getting smiles when there is nothing to smile at but an empty room. We did it though! Now we just have to wait for the cards to arrive in the mail.
As I was looking at this photo I got to thinking about all the pictures we get as Christmas cards. We are usually some of the only people to send a full family photo. There is nothing wrong with sending pictures of just your kids, but let me just say that many people want to see you too! Trust me, I do not always feel the best about how I look from year to year, but I am so happy that I have this record of how our family grows. So next time you are only going to use a picture of your children take another look at that family portrait and consider using it instead. I promise you will get nothing but positive feedback!
