As this year begins to unfold I am finding myself thinking about what I want from the upcoming months. Usually I find big resolutions to be incredibly daunting. I also believe you kind of have to let the big things unfold as they may. But little things are just right for my brain to process and try to make happen. This is the list that I've come up with so far.
1. Read more books- a pastime I love, but have let slip away in recent years.
2. spend more time painting- something that gives me endless pleasure, but doesn't get enough of my time.
3. slipcover my two mid-century chairs. I love these chairs, but the naugahyde isn't exactly attractive. White linen would be just the ticket.
4. Use my hasselblad more often. That camera is pure magic.
5. i want to love my studio, and so far I don't. Find ways to make the space work for me.
6. Turn off the TV more in the evenings. Maybe start a no-tech evening once a week.
7. Exchange more art with other artists.
8. Enlarge a photo really really big for my house.
9. Take more photo excursions.
10. Get a better sock collection
11. Make more gifts by hand.
There are more that have to do with people and such, but for now I kind of like seeing these personal goals put in one spot.
