Anyone who opens my freezer will likely get attacked by runaway butter wrappers. David had three fall on him last week while trying to extract some chicken stock from a shelf. Why do I keep butter wrappers in the freezer you ask? They make the most handy tool for greasing pans, that's why!
When you finish with a stick of butter just throw the wrapper in your freezer. Anytime you need to grease and flour a pan just pull out a wrapper or two and rub it around the pan. There is just enough residual butter left on the wax paper to evenly coat two round cake pans. If you do cupcakes you will need a few more wrappers.
Viola! No more buying spray oil just to use for baking.
