A peek at my new bedroom. After having chocolate brown walls, I was thrilled to find out our new home had dark navy blue walls. Once you are accustomed to the way a dark bedroom envelops, it is hard to go back to bright white. We are also lucky enough to have three windows in the room, one of them South facing, so although it's dark, we get lots of light in the room.
If you remember, I am a huge fan of black and white abstract art and did a Web Wednesday post on the subject. Upon unpacking my art I discovered the glass had broken in one of my frames. I decided to use the gold frame around a new painting and quickly got to work. With my white and black paints in hand and an old canvas laying around I just went with the flow and within an hour I had a new painting to hang on my side of the bed.
I think it's interesting that the painting ended up resembling doors and windows, since we are embarking on a new path in life. And now, every time I look at the painting I will be reminded of our first week living here. Not to mention it is so typical of me to suddenly decide to work on art in the middle of unpacking boxes!
We've officially been here a week as of yesterday. Have a wonderful Thursday!

Rachel
