Hey all! We are in the midst of a cool down in these parts...a cool 65°F! David has been on vacation the past week, and although we have utilized most of those days to get some things accomplished off of our to do list, we are enjoying spending the days together. Last week we went up to the girls' schools to eat thanksgiving lunch with them. Today we are spending it changing out my alternator and timing belt on my truck. Not glamorous, but fun together time.
I wanted to mention a dew things that I have been absolutely loving right now. When I discover something that I think is a great buy I certainly like to pass it on.
First on my list is actually my favorite. It's the tangle teezer. This brush was created by a stylist in Great Britain a few years ago. It is meant to be used on wet or dry hair. Let me tell you this thing is awesome! We are a frizzy, curly headed family and this brush combs through our tangles in about one minute flat. The girls fight over it so much that I picked up two as stocking stuffers today. I got mine at target, actually on a clearance end cap, but they sell them on Amazon.com as well.
Next up is an awesome pillow I discovered a few weeks ago. They are the allerease select comfort cotton pillow. We are major feather pillow people, so when I bought these down alternate in a last ditch effort to find a firm enough pillow for David I honestly didn't think they would work. Boy was I wrong! These pillows are so fluffy and yet firm enough to support our side sleeping. I picked them up at Marshall's and loved them so much I went back today for two more to go on the guest bed, but I believe you can find this brand at any big box store.
Lastly, something for those of you with iPads. If, like me, you are a major magazine nut this will be an awesome find! I tried out Next Issue from the App Store. It is a monthly magazine service along the lines on Netflix. For $10-15 per month you get access to all the digital magazines in their library. They have so many of the great ones! Elle decor, house beautiful, architectural digest, veranda, country living, southern living, Elle, vogue, Oprah, vanity fair, Bon appetit, car and driver, go, esquire, glamour, teen vogue, and on and on for $10/mo. For the more expensive plan at $15/mo you also have access to the New Yorker and a few other weekly publications like people. I probably spend this much just with impulse magazines at the grocery store. Now I have them all at the touch of my fingers!
I hope you are all going into the holiday season relaxed. We are determined to not get stressed over all the hubbub and travel this year. Heck, some of these would make great gifts!
