Yesterday my sweet girl turned ten. Ten years old. The fact that I have been a mother for an entire decade is what just comletely stuns me. Olivia has been a part of my days for almost a third of my life now. What a gift.
Birthdays on a Monday are kind of a bummer really. I mean, it's the end of a weekend (one where your dad worked nights) and you have to go to school. Luckily, David's week of working nights means he was home until 11pm so we could go have some fun after school dismissed for the day. A trip to the aquarium followed by restaurant of her choice and opening gifts.
And the picture above is just so Olivia. My snippet of a girl is still the smallest in her class (she's probably the smallest in the class below her too). She's artistic and sassy, definitely dancing through life to the beat of her own drum and she doesn't seem the least bit concerned with being a goofball. Oh, and she's a major Spurs fan.
Oh, and the card from Zoe said "I love you and you are my best friend."
Cue the waterworks.
