still sick

I spoke too soon on Friday; I am still sick.  Yesterday was awful.  My entire day was spent on the sofa watching HGTV.  Unfortunately, I am not one of those people who can read when they feel bad.  Another thing that stinks is that I have to wear my glasses while lying down or I can't see.   But wearing glasses while lying down is a bit uncomfortable.  What can you do?

One thing that helps is having a husband who happens to miraculously be off this Saturday.  This really was serendipity, because he works practically every weekend at the hospital.  Not this one.  He was home to take care of the girls.  He could make their meals, and break up their fights, and take them to Target to get soup and one last present for Olivia (from Mayna- she got a princess purse with phone, makeup, and camera).  And he is willing to get me whatever I need, including quesadillas.  These are the sick food of choice around here.  Can you tell we are native south Texans? 

The only time I sat up in the past 48 hours was to eat.  Then it was right back to laying down.  I am feeling much better today, and even cleaned up the house a bit this morning.  If you ever feel that you don't get much done on any given day as a mom, just be sick for two days and then look around the house.  Even with all of his help, including keeping the dishes clean, the house was in complete disarray.  I really don't think I realized how much tidying up I do all day. 

Well, it's back to the couch for a while.  i don't want to push my luck and overdo it on a day David is back at work.  Yup, on a Sunday.  I wonder if my DVR recorded some Nigella cooking shows?
