mother's paradise
Know what I could get into? Colonial British camping while at the park. You know, bring the cane chair and side table: something on which to set my laptop and drink. Portable umbrella and rug underfoot. I could sit all day long in the manner. It would need to be completely over the top and ridiculous, I think.
Our park excursion lasted four hours yesterday. I did not have all of the accoutrements, and instead settled in on a nearby park bench while the girls played, listening to NPR podcasts and writing in my sketchbook.
And it is a good thing we played this long, because today it is dismal and rainy, not a day for playgrounds. So I will think of yesterday as an early Mother's Day present. A perfect day with my two favorite girls outside in ideal weather with an entire park all to ourselves for endless play and relaxation. So thanks girls! I had a great time!
And to all you moms out there, and mine (grammy), have a super duper mother's day! Oh, and to my grandmother (mayna) happy happy birthday tomorrow! I wish we could be with you to celebrate your day! I love you both!
