There are quite a few things i keep forgetting to post. Like the lamps on our front porch that David and I installed all by ourselves. He even added a photocell to each of them that turn the lamps on and off automatically.
Then there is the little valance I made the other day to go over the kitchen sink. The fabric is by Alexander Henry with a blue ric rac trim. I love how cheery this makes the kitchen.
Ah, then there is my newest addition to my craft studio...a print by Emily over at the Black Apple. I absolutely love this print, maybe because she reminds me of me. Here you see her hanging on my bird's egg wall.
And I must mention the terrific craft books I picked up at Amazon.
I am loving the stuff in Amy Karol's Bend the Rules Sewing. Her blog
has been one of my favorites for a long time, but this book is
terrific. I consider myself an intermediate sewer, but Amy explains
the proper way to do lots of the things that I usually figure out as I
go, like quilt binding. Really, this book is so much fun to read, and
the projects are quick and easy to understand. I whipped myself up a new wallet last night:
The outside fabric and pockets is Chocolate Lollipop by Anna Maria Horner; the lining is from my mystery stash. I just used a pearl snap for the closure.
And a few baby gifts I am working on. This owl comes from the Tutorial over at Moonstitches.
And for those of you who would like a better view of my wall here you go. It is supposed to be a giant version of Rattan caning. I am extremely pleased with the final result, but now we are having a hard time hanging anything on top of it.
