People take photos for a variety of reasons. Some want to bottle a moment forever, so they can remember in years to come. Some snap a photo when they go on trips, to show others all the places they've been. My reason for making pictures? I look for places and emotions that may only be fleeting. I like to find the specialness of a place. Almost everywhere I go, I encounter something extraordinary, even if its very small like the string on a kite or a misshapen pepper. These things are all beautiful, and they are what bring variety to our lives. All you have to do is slow down a bit and look around you. I bet there is something special right in the very room in which you are sitting. There is here: One beam of sunlight is peeking into this room, landing on one overturned golden sandal. Already it is fading, but how glad I am to have noticed that sparkle if just for a moment.
